The beach

Sand, lake and mountains opposite

The municipal beach of Saint-Jorioz is the only large natural sand beach on Lake Annecy. On the western shore, facing the Dents de Lanfon and La Tournette, it combines fine sand over about 100 metres and vast lawns shaded by tall trees.

Blue Flag certified since 2010, an international label renewed every year after auditing of water quality, environmental management, safety and accessibility. Water classified as excellent quality by the regional health agency (ARS).

Open all year. Free from September to June, paid and lifeguarded by qualified MNS from 1 July to 31 August, 9:30 – 17:30. Full facilities on site: 3-level diving board, pontoons, fenced playground, beach volleyball and pétanque courts, showers and toilets.

Tourisme & Handicap certified: water access ramp and two amphibious wheelchairs (Tiralo + Hippocampe) lent free of charge in July–August. Restaurant and snack bar on site — see below.

Access & parking

How to get here

Plage de Saint-Jorioz, 74410. From Annecy (9 km, ~15 min off-season), follow the west shore via the D909a. Free parking directly facing the beach — often full in July–August, arrive before 11am or come by bike via the Lake Annecy Voie Verte cycle path (~30 min from Annecy). Also accessible by boat. Wheelchair spaces available.
